🚆 Senior Travel, Trips & Transportation Discounts in Spain

Traveling across Spain becomes easier (and cheaper!) once you hit 55, 60, or 65. Whether you prefer train journeys, organized trips, cultural excursions, or simply moving around your city, Spain offers some of Europe’s best senior travel discounts.

NEWS ! Spain is launching a new “Single Transport Pass” for just €60 a month.

Spain is introducing a single transport pass for €60 per month, allowing unlimited travel nationwide on commuter trains (Cercanías), medium-distance trains, and state-run buses. For those under 26, the price is cut to €30.

While high-speed trains (AVE) are excluded, the government is encouraging local regions to add subways and city buses to the plan. Additionally, current transport discounts (up to 40-50%) on local travel are being extended to keep public transit affordable across the board.

Transport discounts will be extended

Currently, monthly urban and interurban transport passes and 10-trip tickets are discounted by 40% (20% funded by the state and the other 20% by regional or local governments). This discount allows, for example, in Madrid, a monthly pass for all regional transport—including metro, tram, bus, and commuter trains—to cost 66.3 euros.

The current discounts also include a 40% discount (70% for young people) on medium-distance trains, a 50% discount on Avant high-speed trains, and a 50% discount on state-run buses (70% for young people).
